Sebastián González - Santeria

Santería explores my relationship with Catholic imagery as a cultural memory rather than a religious belief. Growing up surrounded by these icons made me question how saints become objects of devotion and how portraiture shapes faith. Through large-format portraits, I imagine what saints might look like if they were photographed today. The accompanying virtual gallery extends this idea, placing the viewer inside a monumental future church where the scale of the images reinforces the saints' symbolic and spiritual presence.
